My Career Advice to GI High School Students at #ShadowDay2014 – Held on April 10th

Two weeks ago, I was invited back to speak at the Grand Island High School for the annual Shadow Day Program, which is an excellent program that allows students to shadow at different companies in the area for one day. This experience helps them to decide their career choice and for some, change their course of study.

I spoke for only 10 minutes and provided my own experience in high school. Many students and teachers thanked me after the speech and appreciated what I had to say.

My main message was one of balancing passion with pragmatism and yes, I did speak for a little bit using my famous Indian accent (for those that have heard it in the store).

I want to thank the school for inviting me and especially Mrs Chamberlain, the business teacher, who is also the winner of the GI Chamber of Commerce’s Citizen of the Year award for Education this year.
