Our dear friends Rod and Adam Reisdorf, a father and son team of expert car enthusiasts and knowledgeable automobile repair experts, both own and manage Mr Best Wrench on Grand Island. We have been taking our cars to them for years. They have also been amazing mentors to our older son, during and after his high school years. During the year, they work on many fun car projects as well and this year, we helped them with a 1966 Mustang Convertible restoration and modification project by designing, printing and mounting a descriptive poster for their client, who absolutely loved it. Of course, he also loved the restored and modified car too!
Here is what Adam writes about the car:
This car started life as a very base model car. Straight 6 cylinder engine, manual drum brakes at all four wheels, manual steering and 14 inch wheels and tires. The car was transformed into a RestoMod (restored and modified), leaving only the body in stock form. It now boasts a 400 horsepower small block Ford engine, a Tremec 5 speed manual transmission, Ford 9 inch limited slip rear differential, aluminum radiator with an electric cooling fan, power disc brakes on all four corners, power steering, HID headlights, LED tail and brake lights, a modern stereo with custom mounted speakers in the car and three 8 inch subwoofers in the trunk housed in a custom made speaker box all hidden and mounted in a completely trimmed and finished trunk compartment. What was referred to in 1966 as a “secretaries car” is now a full blown muscle machine.
